When I first began blogging nearly five years ago, it was really just to share my everyday life with my family, since I'd recently moved to a new town that they had never visited. I wasn't truly aware at the time, but what I was really trying to share was the rural beauty that surrounded me.. on my little Canon, as best as I knew how. Lifestyle, personal and craft blogs were just beginning to emerge and pave the way for our experiences today, so everything was quite new and fascinating to be a part of.
Everyday I'm so amazed and excited by just how far blogging has come in such a short amount of time. Over the years, my own blog has been transformed in so many ways and everyday, especially within the last five months, I've contemplated why it is that I truly love to sit down and create a blog post.
Recently, thanks to the instantaneous beauty of Instagram and gorgeous apps like Afterglow, I've noticed even more amazing and inspiring souls are capturing everyday beauty. It is something that I've always been truly passionate about, within both my words and images. Whether I'm scribbling down an overheard conversation at a cafe or capturing a quick moment at the hardware store of a perfect row of garden gnomes, for me it's everyday life that I find most inspiring.
So momentarily I began to wonder.. If we are all capturing images of everyday life, will we all end up with matching Instagram images, Facebook feeds and blog posts? And then it dawned on me.. How could that possibly be? We are all finding inspiration in our own everyday, within the personal beauty of the raw, fragile, mundane and delightful.. Each of our 'everydays' is truly unique and we all share what we know to be true in that particular moment. This act of documenting of the everyday is so PERFECT, not only at this time but for generations to come. The possibilities are infinite, now more than ever as we continue to be active participants of the 'digital park bench' (thank you to Scott Schuman for the wonderful quote). So let's go forth, with our creative 'weapons of choice' and capture the world!
And thank you so much for stopping by and reading my everyday ramblings. I just adore being a part of this evolving experience and contributing my take on this inspiring world that surrounds me.

ReplyDeletehappy to have found your blog!
As much as blogging can become somewhat superficial I think it also succeeds in capturing moments in time and I can't wait to see how that turns out years down the road :)
ReplyDeleteIt really is an exciting time to have this technology at our fingertips, to share so much of the beauty all around us with people we can't always be with, and with others around the world :-)
ReplyDeleteYou know I love your beautiful instagrams - they're so inspiring! Keep up the great work :) x
ReplyDeleteThankyou for making your blog such a delight to read, and the fact that your things are so individual will mean you'll never be the same as anyone else
ReplyDeleteThe style of your blog and photographs is really warm and cuddly. :+D It makes me rethink my own designs. Your background texture is an excellent choice. The way you present the labels is very nice as well.
ReplyDeleteHappy new year! ;=)
